Since 1843, the House of Besserat de Bellefon has imposed a unique style combining elegance and power. The creation in 1930 of the Cuvée des Moines, a champagne of great finesse that can accompany an entire meal, is the founding act of a true legend. The House has a vineyard of 25 hectares, located mainly in the Marne Valley, the cradle of Pinot Meunier, supplemented by the quality grapes of a network of winemakers. It should be noted that the House does not practice malolactic fermentation, in order to preserve all the purity and freshness of the wine.
BB 1843 is an experimental cuvee where the use of oak in both fermentation and aging adds subtly discreet oaky notes that preserve the purity of the wine. It is the fruit of a unique and very specific method of champagne making that has been perpetuated by Besserat de Bellefon since 1930.
Visually stunning, intense pale gold with light amber gleams. Aromas of milk bread, baking, panettone and citrus zest intermingle on the nose. The sensation of creaminess in the mouth is extraordinary. It possesses a purity and tension that resonate on the palate and set the taste buds soaring. A remarkably persistent finish on notes of soft spices and an agreeable touch of bitterness.
