Les Bouffants Sancerre Blanc

Les Bouffants is an early terroir facing south. Its limestone soil and its exposure combine the wines with a strong character that is both dense and voluptuous.

On the Domaine, the Bouffants terroir is split into two parts. A first part (Haut de Bouffants for 75% of the plot) is located on the top of the hill with a very stony ground but with a fluid and flexible soil which works extremely well. The second part (Pente de Bouffants for 25% of the plot) is a steep slope of finer and softer limestone called Griottes. The maturation is faster there with always very golden grapes and a lower yield.

Like “the Côte de épée” for the Damocles cuvée, “les Bouffants” is one of the legendary localities of the Sancerre appellation that we wanted to isolate to highlight another facet of the diversity of our plot.
