Champagne Deutz is a notable Champagne house of the Aÿ region. It was founded in 1838 by wine merchants William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann. Deutz is well-known for its balanced, elegant wines made from the classic Champagne blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Nearly 80 percent of grapes is sourced from Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites. In 1983, after generations of ownership by the Deutz and Geldermann families, the company was sold to the Rouzaud family, the owners of Louis Roederer.
The color is crystal clear and bright with white gold reflects. Aromas of white and yellow vine peach, Mirabelle plum, nectarine and kumquat, combined with notes of pastries and honeysuckle followed by aromas of white flowers. The attack to the palate is silky, with mineral undertones, combined with notes of citruses like lemon or pink grapefruit. Beautiful and pure lingering finish.
