Historic and famous winery producing Trento DOC Metodo Classico sparkling wines, Cantine Ferrari was founded in 1902 by Giulio Ferrari, with the aim of creating a great Italian sparkling wine in Trentino. In 1952, the Lunelli family took over the company continuing the activity of Ferrari aimed at the production of sparkling wines able to compete with French Champagnes.
Ferrari's Trento Riserva Lunelli Spumante comes from the vineyards of Villa Margon, located on the high hills above Trento. It is produced exclusively with Chardonnay grapes, selected and harvested by hand during the first half of September. The wine ages for at least 7 years on selected yeasts.
Floral perceptions alternate with citrus-like exotic fruit tones. Notes of crusty bread, pineapple and lemon cream are accompanied by spicy sensations and suggestions of rosemary, with hints of honey and hazelnut brittle. A perfect balance of fruity and toasty yeast sensations. The large Austrian oak casks give the wine added structure and a long finish.
