Bodegas Barón was founded by Manuel Barón Fernández in 1895 who acquired some old soleras. Manuel Barón’s wife had a much older family history in sherry though, so we could say Barón’s history goes back almost 400 years already. Today, ten generations later, the company is owned by Jose Rodriguez Jiménez. It is located in the barrio alto of Sanlúcar, where they store nearly 10.000 barrels of wine.

Oloroso is a wine made from Palomino grapes. The special structure that it demonstrates at an initial tasting destines it for oxidative ageing. For this reason alcohol is added to 17°, thus preventing the development of the layer of yeast and allowing the wine to age while exposed to oxygen. The result is a wine both structured and complex.

It is fragrant, powerful, pungent scent of fine wood, woodwork, lacquer, varnish, stale touch, orange peel, bitter notes, nuts, almond and hazelnut. The entrance is dry and powerful, delicious salty point without hurting sharp, nice appearance, fine, lively and juicy acidity is bound.
