Castello di Ama is an Italian producer, found the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany. The estate has about 75 hectares (185 acres) of vineyards, all within a two-miles radius of the village of Ama. Beauty and uniqueness enticed this family, originally from Rome, to Ama in the early Seventies. Bound by their love of wine, they replanted the vineyards and introduced new production methods, building a new winery with the end goal of producing Chianti Classico and returning Ama to its former glory.

Haiku originated in 2009 with the acquisition of the Montebuoni vineyard, whose replanting was completed in 2001. This standout wine is a blend of three varieties: 50% Sangiovese, with the remainder divided in equal measure between Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The name is inspired by the traditional Japanese verse in three phrases, whose power lies in allusions
to nature and which requires clear thinking and imagination. Haiku is a powerful wine, initially supple before impressing with its audacity, substance and refinement.

Intense purple red with ruby-red nuances. Aromas of fruits of the forest, such as raspberry and blackcurrants, spicy of pepper, wild herbs and tobacco. The palate shows a clear identity of the grape varieties. The wine is intrinsically elegant and natural freshness evolving in a silky finish.
