Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition

Glenmorangie has existed as a distillery since 1843 when William Matheson bought a licence to make whisky on the site of a brewery located near the Tarlogie Springs in Ross-shire in the highlands of Scotland. Matheson bought two second-hand gin stills to make his spirit, and the distillery is famous for having the tallest stills in Scotland. The water used in the production is drawn from Tarlogie Springs, which are located in the nearby Tarlogie hills. Over the years, Glenmorangie has become Scotland’s best selling Single Malt. That, more than anything else, should be held dear to the distillery’s metaphoric heart as an enormous success.

Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 46.5% ABV, created as a collaboration between Harrison Ford and Glenmorangie’s whisky-making team led by Dr Bill Lumsden. The whisky combines Glenmorangie matured in classic bourbon casks with whisky finished in toasted Portuguese red wine casks, adding extra texture, fruit and spice while retaining the distillery’s elegant house style.

The aroma opens with orange marmalade, citrus zest, honeysuckle and jasmine, followed by notes of beeswax, peach blossom and vanilla. On the palate, lively flavours of Seville orange, lemon and grapefruit are joined by baked bread, apricot, muscovado sugar and butter candy. The finish is medium to long, with touches of menthol, orange oil, leather and oak tannin.
