Ricard Pastis

Ricard was created in Marseille in 1932 by Paul Ricard, who developed his own recipe for Pastis de Marseille and built the brand around the flavours and drinking culture of southern France. In 1975, Ricard merged with Pernod to form Pernod Ricard, today one of the world’s largest international wine and spirits groups. The original Ricard recipe has remained secret and unchanged since its creation.

Ricard Pastis has a pronounced anise-led aroma, supported by liquorice, fennel and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is smooth, herbal and lightly sweet, with persistent notes of star anise, liquorice and aromatic Provençal plants. When diluted with cold water, it becomes softer and more refreshing, with the herbal character opening up further and the finish remaining distinctly aniseed-driven.
