1919 Red

Marsovin is one of Malta’s best-established wineries, founded by Chevalier Anthony Cassar more than a century ago. What began as a small operation purchasing grapes from local farmers developed over successive generations into a modern winery with five private estates across Malta and Gozo. Today, the company is led by Jeremy Cassar, the founder’s great-grandson, and its historic cellars house more than 220 oak barrels used for ageing premium red wines.

1919 Red is a quality wine produced from selected grapes of the indigenous Gellewza and international Merlot variety.

The wine is complex, full bodied red wine with intense ripe fruit aromas of forest berries, Amarena cherries and figs underlined by distinct notes of peppery, sweet spice and a hint of fresh tobacco. On the palate it is very smooth with plenty of ripe, velvety tannins and a very pleasant, long lingering finish. Ideal with game, red meat and mature cheeses.
