Auchentoshan Dark Oak

Auchentoshan is a Scottish distillery known for producing some of the lightest and most delicate whiskies in the world. The Auchentoshan distillery is located in the Lowlands of Scotland, and has been in operation since 1823. Auchentoshan whiskies often have a floral aroma with sweet flavor profile and it is one of the few triple-distilled single malts in Scotland.

Dark Oak has been matured in a combination of bourbon, oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks.

To the nose its nutty and toffee with a strong wood influence of coconut and vanilla with gentle oak spices, but also the floral character of freesia complemented by red berries, strawberries, and rich sherry character. The taste is spicy and sweet with roasted hazelnuts, brittle and toffee notes, crème caramel, candied apple and sugar almonds with a touch of liquorice stick tannins.
