Roberto Voerzio is one of the most acclaimed wine producers in Piedmont. His Barolo wines are highly prized at auction, and are known for being ripe, rich, and less tannic and oaky than many other examples of the famous appellation. The estate owns or manages 8.5 hectares (21 acres) of vineyards around La Morra, with high planting densities producing high quality tiny yields.
The 2015 Barolo Fossati offers bouquet of wild berries and redcurrant, intertwined with delicate rose hip, warm spice, and subtle crushed slate minerality. On the palate, it is focused and precise, revealing a deep inner core framed by elegant layering and refined texture. The wine’s structure is taut yet slightly softened, lending volume, length, and a graceful persistence.
This is a beautifully balanced and thoughtfully constructed expression of Nebbiolo, showcasing the artistry of one of La Morra’s most talented winemakers.
