Product Details

Code: BOLI012

The name of Bollinger’s emblematic champagne, with its English spelling, encapsulates its entire history. It was the British agent of Georges Bollinger who, in 1911, christened it “Special Cuvée”, as he found the expression “non-vintage brut” did not befit a champagne of such subtlety. Over a century later, the name of the champagne emblematic of Bollinger’s expertise still encapsulates its entire history.

La Grande Année is the very embodiment of an exceptional, timeless champagne. Artisanal savoir-faire is at the heart of its production. One such artisanal technique is winemaking, which takes place in oak barrels that are around 20 years old. This helps the wine develop complex aromas, and, thanks to micro-oxygenation, lends an extraordinary ageing potential.

The color is a magnificent Versailles Gold. It is delicately tinted with golden reflections, witnesses of the maturity of the wine. On the nose: toasted and fruity and slightly vanilla notes. Full and expressive. Apricot, almond and hazelnut, but also honey and cereals respond to each other in a veritable symphony of aromas. On the palate: affirmations of the sensations of the nose with a remarkable silkiness. Its freshness and smoothness are accompanied on the finish by beautiful bitters.

Included with wooden Bollinger box.
