Charles Heidsieck is a prestigious Champagne producer. Established in 1851 by the nephew of Piper-Heidsieck's owner, Charles Heidsieck himself was the original 'Champagne Charlie'. Charles Heidsieck is one of the three Champagne houses named Heidsieck - all originating from families once related - Charles is the smallest and arguably, the best. Rather than investing in vineyards, Heidsieck invested in underground chalk cellars based in the center of Reims. The cellars, which are still part of the house today, are 60 feet (18m) below ground and have a constant temperature and humidity – they have been used to age wines for nearly 150 years.
A deep golden robe market by a delicate, orchestrated and persistent effervescence. Elegant nose of freshly baked brioche, roasted notes and rope, sun-kissed fruits, mango, apricot, mirabelle plum as well as dried fruits, pistachio and almond. The texture evokes the crunch of a layer of creamy nougat, with fleshy fruits like plums and cherries. The smoothness is provided by the selection of reserve wines. The finish reveals amber and vanilla notes as well as touch of praline.
