Castello di Ama Il Chiuso

Castello di Ama is an Italian producer, found the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany. The estate has about 75 hectares (185 acres) of vineyards, all within a two-miles radius of the village of Ama. Beauty and uniqueness enticed this family, originally from Rome, to Ama in the early Seventies. Bound by their love of wine, they replanted the vineyards and introduced new production methods, building a new winery with the end goal of producing Chianti Classico and returning Ama to its former glory.

Il Chiuso is named after the farm, where Pinot Nero was planted in 1984 with Morey-Saint-Denis clones (Burgundy). This noble variety cultivated in predominately chalky soil at approximately
500 metres above sea level results in a sublimely elegant wine, which is exquisitely balanced, replete with fruity overtones and plush tannins.

The wine displays a ruby-tinted intense red color. The nose is lavish of fruits, dominated by strawberry, black cherry, blueberry but also violet fragrances.
