The Domaine Courtault Michelet is located north-west of Chablis, in Lignorelles. This family estate exploits 28 ha and offers the 4 appellations of Chablis as well as a Bourgogne Epineuil Côte de Grisey. During two generations, Domaine planted all their plots of vines, except the Vieilles Vignes (60 years old). Sustainable vine-growing and the preservation of the environment has always guided them in their choices regarding the management of vineyards.
L'Homme Mort is one of the most northerly Premier Crus in Chablis, located within the larger Fourchaume Premier Cru vineyard. The Chardonnay-based wines made in this small climat share the softer, more rounded characters that are synonymous with Fourchaume, while also possessing a distinctive zingy minerality.
Pale golden in color. Aromas of almonds and apricots, with an ethereal touch of lemon. On the palate is straightforward at first, due to its youth, then grapefruit aromas are revealed. A lovely minerality emerges with gunflint notes. As a product of its terroir, this young wine is still keeping its guard up. It will be ideal for tasting when it has been aged for around 3 years.
