Château Bellefont-Belcier is a Grand Cru Classe estate in Saint-Emilion on Bordeaux's Right Bank. It is located on the Pavie Slopes south of the village of Saint-Emilion. There are 13.5 hectares (33 acres) of vineyards within the 20-ha (50-acre) estate. These vineyards are planted on clay and limestone soils, although there is some variation of terroir across the estate. The vineyard was founded in the mid-18th Century by Count Louis Francois de Belcier. In 1803, he built the château, which he named Bellefont, or "beautiful spring". The building still stands today. As one of the oldest properties in Saint-Emilion, it is often described as a belle endormie (sleeping beauty), with a very high potential given the quality of its terroir.

Flowers, dark chocolate, cherries, black raspberries, smoke and licorice permeate the perfume. On the palate, the wine is fresh, silky and vibrant, with a sweetness to the red fruits, minerality, chalky tannins and cocoa nuances that linger long after the wine has left the glass.
