Château Brown is a wine estate in the Pessac-Léognan region of Bordeaux, just south of the city. It produces a range of red and white (and rosé) blended wines in keeping with many properties in the wider Graves region. The estate is a flagship of owners the Mau family – a well-known name in Bordeaux wine circles. The estate covers 59 hectares (146 acres) some 10km (six miles) south of central Bordeaux. Brown is planted to 29 hectares (72 acres) of vines. The vines average 20 years old, and are planted on classic gravelly soils with varying percentages of clay, sandstone and iron.
With a lovely pale gold color, this wine offers a powerful aromatic nose, focused on a wide range of citrus fruits, particularly grapefruit accompanied by notes of clementine and lemon. The palate is round and thick on the attack, where we find the aromatic presence in the foreground. The finish is long, savory and warm, well tempered by a welcome freshness.
