Chateau Cantelys Rouge

Château Cantelys is a wine estate located in the commune of Martillac, in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, just south of Bordeaux city. The estate vineyards span some 23 hectares (57 acres) on classic Graves alluvial, gravel soil.

Medium to deep ruby-red color. Aromas are of leafy blackcurrant and tobacco. Initial ripe blackcurrant fruit on the palate quickly loses out to unripe green tannins and drying oak. Alcohol is balanced and the acidity is fresh. Length is fine, but the fruit on the finish lacks ripeness and suppleness.
