Château Cantenac-Brown is a wine producer located in Margaux, on the left bank of the Gironde river in Bordeaux. It was established in the early 19th Century and was classified as a third growth in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc and Graves. The vineyard is planted on gravelly soils shot through with white stones, which help to reflect the sun's warmth onto the grapes, helping ripening. The grand vin comes from vines that are on average 35 years old, and yields are kept in check by the wine-growing team. Every couple of months during the growing season, the grapes are checked bunch by bunch to ensure everything is progressing as it should.
With a serious depth of color, the nose bursts with black cherries, black plums, and more black fruit. The palate is rich, lush, polished, creamy, and filled with a medley of black, red, and blue fruits, alongside notes of licorice, chocolate, and spice. There is a length, opulence, and layers of ripe, sweet pit fruits that linger and expand on the finish.
