Château d'Arsac is a wine estate in the Margaux appellation and one of the oldest in the region. The château, its grounds and most of its attached vineyards lie in the center of the commune of Arsac, at the very southwest of the Margaux appellation. The estate's land was first planted to vine in the 18th Century and both the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties have thrived in its gravel and sandy soils.
The nose offers intensity, power and a fine, fresh grain. There are notes of wild blackcurrant, vanilla and, more slightly, crushed strawberry combined with hints of fresh blond tobacco, nutmeg and cloves. The palate is fruity and offers freshness, juiciness, acidity, delicacy and a fine stretch. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fresh red berries, fresh/crisp raspberries and, more slightly, fresh flowers, combined with hints of lily, fresh/juicy berries, as well as fine points of nutmeg and a discreet hint of sweet blond tobacco in the background.
