La Fleur Pourret is not half as well known as some other names in Saint-Émilion. But it should by no means be overlooked. Since 2002, it’s been operated by the same team as the prestigious Château Figeac, including their much-celebrated winemaker Frédéric Faye.
As a result, this Saint-Émilion Grand Cru punches well above its weight. It's made from 40-year-old vines on a 4.5 hectare estate a stone's throw from the gate of Saint-Émilion.
Expect a silky, concentrated wine, with juicy notes of forest fruits, cherry and plum, plus hints of liquorice and spice. A touch of graphite adds freshness to the finish. Its supple tannins and full flavor make it an excellent choice for roasted white meats or terrines.
