The Gérard Bertrand group is the spearhead of a winegrowing committed to a better future led by its founder, the eponymous winegrower. With the Languedoc's benchmark biodynamic wines, they create great wines that reflect all the nuances of their terroir. Recognized for his great talent as a blender as well as for his audacity and creativity, he and his teams are working to make the wines of southern France shine throughout the world. Gérard Bertrand is one of the great visionaries of the wine world. At the age of 22, he took over his father's vineyard Château de Villemajou and over the past several decades has developed into one of the most important winemakers in France. He has used biodynamic methods in his 16 vineyards in the south of France for many years.
Deep inky purple-black color. Expressive, spicy nose with ripe dark berries, plum, cassis, pepper, dried herbs, and a touch of roasted wood. Dense and powerful yet soft, with ripe fruit balanced by bright acidity and powdery, well-integrated tannins. New oak adds spicy vanilla. Long, peppery finish with liquorice. Youthful, promising, and already very enjoyable.
