Chateau Phelan Segur

Château Phélan Ségur is a wine estate in the Saint-Estèphe region of the Medoc, northern Bordeaux. The grand vin is typically composed of 50 to 65 percent Cabernet Sauvignon with the remainder made up from Merlot. It is regarded as one of the better estates omitted from the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. It belongs to the Union des Grand Crus de Bordeaux, and is classified in the Place de Bordeaux in the category of "Grand Crus Classés et assimilés (and equivalents)".

Espresso, tobacco leaf, blackberry, cigar box, and underbrush notes shine through on the nose. On the palate, the wine is lush, round, polished and a bit show. The fruit is soft, supple, creamy, and sweet, with staying power in the finish.
