Château Tour Maillet

Château Tour Maillet is a wine label based in the Pomerol appellation region of northeast Bordeaux. The wine is the flagship label of the Vignobles Lagardère portfolio. Vignobles Lagardère is a fourth-generation family wine-growing business established in the mid-20th Century with vineyards in both Pomerol and Montagne-Saint-Emilion. There is no formal château building for Tour Maillet.

The estate vineyards span 2.2 hectares (5.4 acres) in the Maillet sub-region of eastern Pomerol and are planted exclusively to Merlot. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented prior to aging in oak barriques of which 50 percent are new.

Good depth and complexity, with fine wood spices, dark cherries, cassis, berries and touches of dark chocolate and tar. The tight and almost full-bodied palate is packed with dense, dark fruit. Long and structured in the finish, with a balsamic touch at the end. Concentrated and structured.
