Clase Azul Mezcal Durango

Tequila Clase Azul is an ultra-premium and luxury tequila & mezcal brand distilled in Jalisco, Mexico. Clase Azul was launched in 1997 by founder Arturo Lomeli who grew up in Guadalajara from which where tequila originates. After experimenting with a variety of ventures, Lomeli released the first Clase Azul to market in 2000. All Clase Azul are bottled in hand-painted and hand-sculptured decanters.

Clase Azul Mezcal Durango is an artisanal mezcal made from Cenizo agave, a variety native to the rugged landscapes of Durango in northern Mexico. The agave is traditionally cooked, fermented and distilled using methods that preserve the distinctive character of the region, producing a spirit with pronounced earthy, mineral and smoky qualities. Its production reflects the wild terrain and distinctive agave biodiversity for which Durango has become known.

The nose is rich and layered, showing aromas of citrus, green olive, cooked agave and subtle smoke, with herbal and mineral nuances developing underneath. On the palate, it is full-bodied and complex, combining smoky agave character with notes of clove, peanut, brown sugar and ripe fruit. The finish is long, warm and gently smoky, with lingering earthy and mineral tones.
