Bodegas Toro Albalá is one of Spain’s historic and most respected family-owned wineries, founded in 1922 in the heart of the Montilla-Moriles region of Andalusia with roots dating back to an 1844 family estate. It has played a leading role in elevating the region’s wines by specialising in the Pedro Ximénez grape. Under winemaker Antonio Sánchez, Toro Albalá ages its wines in a former power station with vast underground cellars, holding some of Spain’s oldest and most prized stocks, including the internationally acclaimed 100-point Don P.X. Selección 1946.

A sweet and velvety wine, elaborated with Pedro Ximénez grapes harvested in mid-August and laid under the sun for around seven days to concentrate all their sugars. After the press, a sweet must was obtained and left to rest in stainless steel tanks for over a year. A natural gem full of sensations that seduces whoever enjoys it. Each one of Don PX is taken care of with exclusivity, from the harvest to the raisining, obtaining a unique personality.

Amber in color with luminous copper borders, this wine reveals a medium-intensity bouquet where ripe raisins, figs, and golden honey intertwine with a subtle liqueur backdrop, hints of caramel, and a delicate vegetal freshness reminiscent of grape stalks. On the palate, it is sweet and silky, lifted by a pleasant acidity that brings balance and vibrancy, while a gently bitter vegetal finish rounds out the sweetness and lingers with layered sensations of liquorice, mango, and sun-dried raisins.
