DIVE Gavi

La Mesma is a family-run winery in the heart of the Gavi DOCG in Piedmont, Italy, led by the Rosina sisters, who focus exclusively on expressing the purity of the Cortese grape. Rooted in sustainable vineyard practices and a deep respect for their terroir, La Mesma produces elegant, mineral-driven Gavi wines that highlight freshness, precision, and a strong sense of place. Their approach balances tradition with thoughtful modern techniques, resulting in wines that are refined, food-friendly, and true to the limestone-rich hills from which they come.

La Mesma Gavi DIVE is a mature, expressive interpretation of Cortese, offering aromas of ripe pear, yellow apple, preserved lemon and white flowers, complemented by subtle notes of almond, dried herbs and wet stone. The palate is dry and layered, with softened acidity, a gently rounded texture and a distinctive mineral, saline character. Citrus peel and orchard-fruit flavors linger through a savory, lightly nutty finish.

Made from Cortese grapes grown in Piedmont’s Gavi appellation, DIVE is presented as a bottle-aged expression designed to show how Gavi develops with time. The 2019 vintage has benefited from several years of maturation before sale. La Mesma farms organically and typically vinifies its Gavi wines with careful temperature control to preserve freshness and varietal character, while extended bottle ageing allows the wine to gain greater texture, complexity and mature almond and mineral notes.
