Glenfiddich Solera Reserve 15YO
Country: Scotland | Region: Speyside | Volume: 70cl | ABV: 40%
Glenfiddich is a renowned single malt whisky distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. Glenfiddich means "valley of the deer" in Gaelic. The Glenfiddich distillery was founded in 1886 by William Grant. Glenfiddich single malt is one of the most successful and well-known whisky brands in the world. In the 1920s, with prohibition in force in the US, Glenfiddich was one of a very small number of distilleries to increase production. This put them in a strong position to meet the sudden rise in demand for fine aged whiskies that came with the repeal of prohibition.
Using a Solera system common in the maturation of quality sherry, 15yo malt from three different types of casks is married together in a wooden vat, which is constantly topped up to ensure the quality is maintained.
Golden, a red hue color. An intriguingly complex aroma. Sweet heather honey and vanilla fudge combined with rich dark fruits. On the palate a Silk smooth, revealing layers of sherry oak, marzipan, cinnamon and ginger. Full-bodied and bursting with flavor. The finish is satisfyingly rich with lingering sweetness.
