Tenuta San Guido is a 2.500 hectares estate with around a hundreds of vineyard. It has been the first winery to produce in the 1940s a wine made with Cabernet Sauvignon, thanks to the experimentations and the foresight of its founder, Marquis Mario Incisa della Rocchetta. The use of this particular variety and the ageing of the wine in barriques, laid the basis for the Bolgheri style. The vineyards from which the wines of Tenuta San Guido are born are spread over southwest exposure and altitudes ranging from 100 to 400 meters above sea level. The soils are calcareous-clayey, particularly rich in mineral micronutrients, ideal for giving the wines great polyphenolic content, extract and evolutionary potential.

Guidalberto appears on the market with less pretense than Sassicaia and with a more approachable drinkability, while showing a great aging potential. It is not intended to follow in the footsteps of Sassicaia, but rather be a wine that shows another expression of the Tenuta San Guido territory. The label depicts the Oratory of San Guido and the wine is named after the family ancestor Guidalberto della Gherardesca, an agricultural pioneer in the Bolgheri area.

A full-bodied wine of intense red fruit flavor and elegantly supple texture supported by ripe, silky tannins. The Merlot in the blend is expressed in sweet black fruit with overall aromas of ripe, concentrated berries offset by restrained spicy oak notes.
