Based in Appledore, Kent, the original Gusbourne estate dates back to 1410. In 2004, Andrew Weeber took over the estate with a clear vision and a single goal: to create English Still & Sparkling Wines that would stand up alongside the very finest offerings from across the globe. Only the best quality fruit is harvested, all hand-picked by skilled vineyard team. Gusbourne’s unique terroirs and mild microclimates add their own depth and complexity. Under Chief Vineyard Manager, Jon Pollard, careful stewardship, the combination of site, soil and precision in the vineyards means that only the best grapes are used in winemaking.

Guinevere is an elegant cool-climate 100% Chardonnay. The grapes are whole-bunch pressed and fermented at cellar temperature in French oak barriques and puncheons, followed by approximately 10 months of ageing in French oak. This barrel fermentation and maturation add texture and subtle complexity while preserving the wine’s freshness and mineral character, creating a refined and balanced English still Chardonnay.

Pale gold in the glass, with expressive aromas of citrus, green apple and ripe pear, complemented by delicate floral hints and subtle notes of honey and sweet spice. The palate is elegant and silky, showing flavors of lemon zest, yellow apple and pineapple, supported by gentle oak nuances of buttered toast, vanilla and toasted nuts. Bright acidity and a chalky, saline minerality provide freshness and structure, leading to a long, balanced and refined finish.
