Champagne Deutz is a notable Champagne house of the Aÿ region. It was founded in 1838 by wine merchants William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann. Deutz is well-known for its balanced, elegant wines made from the classic Champagne blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Nearly 80 percent of grapes is sourced from Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites. In 1983, after generations of ownership by the Deutz and Geldermann families, the company was sold to the Rouzaud family, the owners of Louis Roederer.

The 2015 Côte Glacière cuvée from Deutz is a Tribute to William Deutz cuvée inaugurated in 2010, resulting from an exclusive vinification of the Côte Glacière plot: a 50-year-old Pinot Noir vine, on a steep slope, ideally exposed, thus giving generous grapes.

To the eye, the effervescence is fine and regular and also contributes to the visual appetite. The nose of Deutz La Côte Glacière 2015 is very expressive and restores warm and immediate floral and ripe fruit aromas: lilac flowers, pear fruit, peach trees. The mouth seduces by the generosity already present. The balance between purity and complexity offers a sensation of harmony and rare refinement. The finish is in unison: promising, inviting the wine lover to classify the cuvée among the wines of great ageing.

This Hommage à William Deutz single-variety and parcel-based "La Côte Glacière" champagne from the very great 2015 vintage is housed in its free gift box.
