Hyde No 9 Iberian Port Cask 1906

Douglas Hyde was the 1st President of Ireland from 1938-1945. He was sworn into office on 26th June 1938, which was the very 1st presidential ceremony in Ireland’s long & rich history. Hyde Whiskey was created to deliver complex Presidential flavor notes that are a celebration of Ireland’s unique history, heritage and provenance, a truly stately whiskey.

This Single Malt Irish whiskey is tripled distilled on a traditional copper pot still from 100% malted Irish grain barley in one Irish distillery location. It is originally matured for at least 8 years in 200 litre flame charred, ex-Bourbon oak casks before being transferred into juicy 200L, first fill, vintage, Tawny Port oak casks, for a further 9 months of cask finishing.

Dried dark fruits with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and blackberry for a grape meets-raisin nose that defines Tawny Port. Taste notes of green apples, honey, citrus, spice, dried fruit, black pepper, and hazelnut, with a vanilla-like buttery finish that lingers on the palate.
