Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare Glenury Royal is built around whisky from the long-closed Highland distillery Glenury Royal, which ceased production in 1985. The blend combines this scarce “ghost” whisky with other rare stocks from the closed distilleries Cambus and Pittyvaich, alongside whiskies from Glen Elgin, Inchgower, Glenlossie, Cameronbridge, and Glenkinchie. 

On the nose, Ghost & Rare Glenury Royal offers sweet apple, delicate apricot, vanilla, honey, and creamy toffee, supported by subtle dried fruits and light oak. The palate develops with layers of heather honey, butterscotch, vanilla, dried fruits, and orchard fruits, followed by dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and a gentle touch of smoke. The finish is smooth and lingering, carrying notes of dark chocolate, hazelnut, mocha, dried fruit, and soft spice, creating a rich yet elegant whisky that balances Glenury Royal’s fruit-forward character with the depth and sweetness of the supporting rare whiskies.
