As the world’s most widely distributed blended Scotch whisky, selling over 130 million bottles a year, Johnnie Walker has a long and rich history. John Walker was a Scottish grocer based in Kilmarnock who, despite being tee-total himself, produced and sold a brand of whisky called Walker’s Kilmarnock Whisky.
This blended whisky has been bottled exclusively for the Johnnie Walker Experience on Princes Street and is the first release in the Princes Street Collective, a series of collaborations with Scotland's leading creative forces. This particular bottling being made in partnership with legendary Scottish textile house, Harris Tweed and comes presented with a bespoke Harris tweed bag. This Scotch expression represents a world first, having spent a year maturing in American oak casks at Johnnie Walker's Whisky Makers Cellar on Princes Street. This small bonded warehouse holds just 26 casks and sits underneath one of Edinburgh's busiest streets. Part of a limited edition release, bottled at a strength of 40% abv.
This whisky has a unique nose of rich and creamy oak, complimented by honeysuckle and red berry flavors on the palate, and topped off by a long and fruity, warming with wood-smoke finish.
