Juan Gil Silver Label

Based in Jumilla with winemaking roots going back over a century, Gil Family Estates comprises eight wineries spread throughout seven D.O.'s in Spain and are famous around the world for bold flavors, lavish texture and alluring spice. 

Composed of 100% Monastrell (a.k.a. Mourvedre) from very old, dry-farmed vines planted to the region's famously chalk and limestone soils, the "Silver Label" red wine is no exception. The chalky and rocky limestone soils very poor in nutrients make this an ideal location to grow grapes of Monastrell with a low yield. 

Explosive aromas of currant, cassis and boysenberry accented by smoky spice. Almost opaque purple in color, it was aged in French oak for 12 months, lending extra depth and complexity to the grape's characteristic ripe, dark fruit. The palate is smooth as silk, with a finish lingering of vanilla and toast.
