Kavalan Lan Single Malt

Kavalan is the distillery that put Taiwanese whisky on the map, and it has been wowing drinkers around the world since it launched its first whisky in 2008. Known for its tropical-fruit style, it has won a host of prestigious awards in a very short time.

LÁN Single Malt is a Taiwanese single malt whisky created as a tribute to Yilan, the home of the Kavalan Distillery, with “LÁN” also symbolizing the orchid — an iconic flower of Taiwan. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, port, and STR vinho wine casks (shaved, toasted, and re-charred), giving it a layered profile of floral elegance, creamy sweetness, fruit richness, and gentle spice. The expression is designed to showcase a softer, refined side of Kavalan while maintaining the distillery’s signature tropical fruit-forward style.

The nose opens with fragrant floral aromas of orchid, rose, jasmine, and orange blossom layered over creamy vanilla, caramel, chocolate, melon, and ripe berry compote. On the palate, the whisky is smooth and rounded, delivering notes of dark berries, raisins, salted caramel, milk chocolate, nuts, cinnamon, and baking spices with hints of citrus and soft oak. The finish is medium-length and warming, lingering with dark chocolate, clove, black pepper, cinnamon, and delicate woody spice.
