The Count’s vineyard is located north of Gaillac on the Plateau Cordais, a wine region in the southwest of France that has faded from view. The elevated plain, nestled in gently sloping hills along the Tarn, is regarded as the best terroir in the region, with optimal conditions for superb wines. The estate has weathered numerous storms thanks to its sturdy construction and is today regarded as a historical treasure of the French southwest.
Ripe on the nose with notes of leather, figs, dried fruits, plums and balsamic spices. On the palate we find sweet fruit flavors that complete its beautiful texture; but also tannins that prove that this wine still needs time to open up completely. The body is supported by a dense extract enhanced by notes of chocolate and dried fruit on the finish. It is a wine that, 10 years since the harvest, still has a certain youthfulness that will continue to evolve in the following years.
