The Count’s vineyard is located north of Gaillac on the Plateau Cordais, a wine region in the southwest of France that has faded from view. The elevated plain, nestled in gently sloping hills along the Tarn, is regarded as the best terroir in the region, with optimal conditions for superb wines. The estate has weathered numerous storms thanks to its sturdy construction and is today regarded as a historical treasure of the French southwest.
An expressive combination of base wines from younger vines of the Comte de Thun Crus. "La Parrazal" reflects the characteristic features of Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon as well as the unique terroir of the Plateau Cordais. Its scent is strongly influenced by the Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet show up on the palate with their fruity characteristics of red fruits and cassis.
