The Maison Laherte Freres was founded in 1889 by Jean-Baptiste Laherte when the majority of the vineyards were located in Chavot-Courcourt. Nowdays 11 hectares are located on the southern slopes of Epernay, Cote des Blancs and Vallee de la Marne. The traditional philosophy is supported by biodynamics, where herbicides are forbidden. The champagnes by Laherte Freres are the result of the wide range of soils, Crus and exposition. Everything is vinified separately to better exalt the characteristics of single parcels. The majority of the Cuvees are vinified in wooden barrels to obtain rich, dense, complex and fresh style of wine.
Les Longues Voyes translates as ‘the long way’, referring not only to the 25 km that you need to travel from the Laherte Estate to arrive at the vineyard, but also the wine’s extended aging: 18 months in barrel and a further 18-20 months in bottle.
Silky and aromatic, with lovely mid-weight presence, the Longues Voyes is all class. Sweet red cherry, red plum, dried flowers and chamomile all grace this exquisite, beautifully polished Blanc de Noirs.
