Manoir du Capucin is a family-run wine estate in the Mâconnais subregion of southern Burgundy, tracing roots back to the early 20th century. It is known for producing elegant white wines that express the limestone-rich terroirs of appellations such as Pouilly-Fuissé. The domaine is recognized for combining traditional Burgundian craftsmanship with sustainable vineyard practices.
Le Clos de Solutré is a single-site Chardonnay from a walled vineyard located in the village of Solutre-Pouilly in the Maconnais. Classified as Premier Cru since 2020, the site sits on south to southeast-facing limestone-rich slopes, giving naturally low yields and concentrated fruit. The grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation and élevage of around 12 months on fine lees, primarily in tank to preserve purity, with careful use of oak. The wine reflects a balance between ripeness and mineral precision, typical of this high-quality climat.
The wine shows a refined and mineral-driven aromatic profile, opening with notes of fresh pear, apple, and citrus, layered with hints of peach, almond, and hazelnut. On the palate it is both opulent and precise, combining a rounded, generous texture with vibrant acidity and a clear limestone minerality. The structure is elegant yet expressive, leading to a long, saline finish with lingering stone fruit and subtle nutty complexity, capturing both the richness and tension expected from a top Pouilly-Fuissé Premier Cru.
