Tenuta San Guido is a 2.500 hectares estate with around a hundreds of vineyard. It has been the first winery to produce in the 1940s a wine made with Cabernet Sauvignon, thanks to the experimentations and the foresight of its founder, Marquis Mario Incisa della Rocchetta. The use of this particular variety and the ageing of the wine in barriques, laid the basis for the Bolgheri style. The vineyards from which the wines of Tenuta San Guido are born are spread over southwest exposure and altitudes ranging from 100 to 400 meters above sea level. The soils are calcareous-clayey, particularly rich in mineral micronutrients, ideal for giving the wines great polyphenolic content, extract and evolutionary potential.

Le Difese is the latest addition at Tenuta San Guido. It is an extremely pleasant, smooth and versatile wine that welcomes a selection of grapes blended with Sangiovese, while it exemplifies its qualities when paired with food. Le Difese takes its name from the teeth of the wild boar, depicted in gold on the label.

Clear ruby color. The nose is enticing, with references to blackberries and blueberries, violet, oriental spices and vegetable traits. Sip of composed softness, cheered up by precise freshness and combed tannins. Persistence lasts.
