Les Tours de Belcier

Château Bellefont-Belcier is a Grand Cru Classe estate in Saint-Emilion on Bordeaux's Right Bank. It is located on the Pavie Slopes south of the village of Saint-Emilion. There are 13.5 hectares (33 acres) of vineyards within the 20-ha (50-acre) estate. These vineyards are planted on clay and limestone soils, although there is some variation of terroir across the estate. The vineyard was founded in the mid-18th Century by Count Louis Francois de Belcier. In 1803, he built the château, which he named Bellefont, or "beautiful spring". The building still stands today. As one of the oldest properties in Saint-Emilion, it is often described as a belle endormie (sleeping beauty), with a very high potential given the quality of its terroir.

Les Tours de Belcier is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, but also the second wine of the renowned Château Bellefont-Belcier.

This is very ripe, but remains fresh and dry with bright redcurrants and nice, herbal freshness. Long finish, lifted by crisp tannins.
