Nikka Yoichi 20YO

Nikka's history dates back to the 1920s, when Masataka Taketsuru traveled to Scotland to study the art of whisky-making. Upon returning to Japan, he founded Nikka in 1934 and began producing some of the country's first single malt whiskies. Today, Nikka is one of the most respected whisky brands in the world, known for its exceptional quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.

Yoichi 20 Year Old Single Malt is an age-statement single malt whisky produced at the Yoichi Distillery, which is well-known for producing full-bodied, peaty whiskies and this cask-strength 20-year-old is true to form. At the 2008 World Whiskies Awards this whiskey claimed the title of World’s Best Single Malt by receiving 95 points in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible.

An intense and beautifully layered dram that opens with bold aromas of cedar wood, cigar boxes, and aged leather, unfolding into earthy smoke, dried mushrooms, and dark forest fruits, while the palate delivers a powerful yet refined mix of savory tobacco, roasted nuts, deep peat, and bittersweet dark chocolate, all leading to a long, smoky finish laced with dry oak, spice, and lingering incense.

A unique, limited to only around 800 bottles and very hard to find whiskey from the Yoichi distillery.
