Tenuta Enza La Fauci lies on the foothills of the Peloritani mountain range in the district of Messina, Sicily. The 3 hectare vineyard at an altitude of 330m is facing the Tyrrhenian Sea. Part of the Faro DOC, these vineyards are home to some excellent wines. This area of production has strong Mistral-like winds that encourage hearty grape growth, which help produce wines are bold but still elegant. Of all the Sicilian denominations, Faro DOC is perhaps the one that is giving the biggest surprises in terms of elegance and expressiveness. Here the Nerello Mascalese, a grape variety that is always linked to the Etna DOC (but which has a very important tradition in Messina), expresses more generous wines
The 'Obli'' is the pride of Enza La Fauci. It's her top wine coming from the Faro DOC from the province of Messina and made from a blend of mostly Nerello Mascalese, together with Nocera, Nerello Cappuccio and Nero d'Avola grapes.
Obli' is a wine characterized by a slight sapidity supported by the freshness of Nerello Mascalese which in these places takes on really interesting connotations and its own particular authenticity and then completed by the singular aromas of Nocera. And finally Nero D'Avola: its presence in a small percentage gives Obli' structure and that "Sicilian nerve" that only a certain Nero D'avola can transmit to Sicilian wines. Certainly it is not easy to explain in words the sensations of wine, which are an abstract concept but based on concrete experience: it is better to drink it, interpret it and taste it deeply.
