Colterenzio is a cooperative winery founded in 1960 in the Sudtirol region in Alto Adige. The winery is named after Cornaiano, one of the oldest wine villages in the region. Over 300 local grape-growing families sell their grapes to the estate. The Lafóa range is named after Luis Raifer and his Lafóa vineyard. Luis Raifer was the president and managing director of Colterenzio. He introduced certain quality standards such as reduced yields for fewer but higher quality grapes. These wines are full-bodied, elegant and produced to be capable of great ageing.

The grapes are grown with espalier systems with vines aged between 15-35 years that are located at an altitude of about 400 m a.s.l. Most of them come from soils of morainic origin, composed of porphyritic and dolomitic rocks. The other part is cultivated on gravelly, clayey-calcareous soils. Then it undergoes alcoholic fermentation in wooden barrels for about 3 weeks with a maceration at a controlled temperature of 25-28 ° C, the malolactic fermentation in wooden barrels and the subsequent aging of the wine for another 12 months partly in new barriques and in partly in second / third passage barriques.

Ruby red in color; seductive aromas of cherry, raspberries, red fruits, combined with fine spicy notes and discreet roasted notes. On the palate is powerful and complex with gripping tannins and an elegant finish.
