Garofoli is one of the oldest family-run wineries in Italy, founded in 1871 in the Marche region by the Garofoli family, who still manage it today across multiple generations. Based in the heart of the Castelli di Jesi. Garofoli combines deep tradition with modern winemaking techniques, producing a wide range of wines from both Verdicchio and Montepulciano, and is widely regarded as a benchmark producer in the Marche for quality, consistency, and long-lived white wines.

The name Podium comes from Latin and evokes the idea of a hill. The wine is made from a selection of grapes from specific vineyard lots, vinified separately in dedicated tanks to obtain a wine with different characteristics. Each year, one tank stands out: in the 2023 vintage, it was number 16, hence the name Podium V.16, a special version that offers a unique expression of Podium.

In the glass, V16 shows a more complex and evolved profile, with aromas of dried citrus, chamomile, honey, and toasted almond alongside subtle oxidative hints and flinty minerality. The palate is broader and more structured, with a creamy texture balanced by vibrant acidity. Flavors of preserved lemon, baked apple, and light spice unfold, leading to a persistent, savory finish with pronounced salinity and depth, showcasing both maturity and precision.
