Gordon & MacPhail is a historic Scottish whisky company founded in 1895 in Elgin and is widely regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious independent bottlers of Scotch whisky, known for sourcing spirit from many distilleries, maturing it in their own casks for long periods, and releasing rare and highly sought-after single malts that often don’t appear in official distillery ranges.

Part of Gordon & MacPhail’s prestigious Private Collection, this rare release captures the character and history of one of Speyside’s most celebrated distilleries. Distilled at Glenlivet in 1976 and matured for 45 years before being bottled in 2021 at natural cask strength, it represents a remarkable example of long-aged Speyside whisky.

Sweet citrus leads into flavors of rich fruitcake and butterscotch, with cinnamon and ginger spice complementing subtle notes of liquorice and oak. Smooth tobacco evolves on the palate before giving way to rich raisins and a hint of white pepper, while stewed fruits blend harmoniously with walnut and plum. The experience concludes with a long, lingering finish of roasted nuts and fresh garden mint.

Only 266 bottles were produced, making this an exceptionally limited and highly collectible expression.
