Pewsey Vale is a winery located in the Eden Valley in South Australia and focuses on Riesling from one enclosed single vineyard. It was the first, and remains one of the only wineries in Australia to work by this one-grape, one-vineyard philosophy for its production of wines. The vineyards were first planted in 1847 by Englishman Joseph Gilbert and some of the vines that exist today have been propagated from the same 19th Century plantings.
Still pale straw with green hues. Intense classic fruit aromas of limes and lemons with fresh toast overlies the intense lime and citrus fruit. Citrus dominant, lime juice, hints of sage oil and marmalade, finishing with a crushed stone minerality. The wine is still vibrant and fresh, yet with richness and intensity from its 10 years in the bottle.
