Clos Roareti Merlot

Guerrieri Rizzardi is a historic, family-owned winery in Italy’s Veneto region, formed in 1913 through the marriage of the Guerrieri and Rizzardi families, whose winemaking roots date back to the 17th century. Known for their commitment to estate-grown fruit, sustainable vineyard practices, and a balance of tradition and precision, Guerrieri Rizzardi crafts wines that express the distinctive terroirs of Lake Garda and the Valpolicella hills with elegance and authenticity.

The first year of production of the Clos Roareti was 2006. The grapes are harvested from a part of the family’s estate where they have grown Merlot grapes since the late 1990s, a variety that they found was perfectly adapted to the climate and the red clay soil. The resulting wine has rich, full bodied and complex Merlot characteristics on the nose and the palate alongside the aromatics of oak ageing, it is a unique departure from the lighter styles of Merlot from the Veneto region.

Clos Roareti is not made every year but only in those years in which they believe the Merlot grapes reach the highest level.
