Based in Appledore, Kent, the original Gusbourne estate dates back to 1410. In 2004, Andrew Weeber took over the estate with a clear vision and a single goal: to create English Sparkling Wines that would stand up alongside the very finest offerings from across the globe. The estate owns 90 hectares of vine focused on the classic grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Only the best quality fruit is harvested, all hand-picked by skilled vineyard team. Gusbourne’s unique terroirs and mild microclimates add their own depth and complexity. Under Chief Vineyard Manager, Jon Pollard, careful stewardship, the combination of site, soil and precision in the vineyards means that only the best grapes are used in winemaking.

Magnums instantly convey generosity. There's something enormously giving in that definitely-needs-two-hands pour. A greater sense of ceremony and celebration too. But magnums find favor among winemakers for more practical reasons that ultimately benefit the way the wines taste. Experts say that there’s no better format for bottle ageing.

Delicate pale pink in appearance with a fine mousse. The nose showcases lots of red fruit and stone fruits, citrus zest and fresh flowers. The palate is dominated by red fruits, with strawberries and crushed raspberries, redcurrants and rhubarb, alongside red apple, nectarine and orange notes. The wine feels elegant and juicy on the palate with bright fruits, hints of pink peppercorn and a delicate mineral note, leading to a long, zesty finish.

This bottle comes with its own fine box.
